McDonald's Salad

Five years ago I was pregnant and decided to eat a salad at McDonald's in hopes of being healthy. I ended up in the bathroom stall puking my guts out. Salad has got to be one of the very worst things to throw up. Today my kids needed to get out so I took them to McDonald's for lunch. There really aren't very many healthy lifestlye choices at McDonald's so I decided to try a salad again. I didn't want to go too crazy so I just chose the $1 side salad. Surprisingly it wasn' too bad. Not as great as the Chick Fil A side salad. It was slightly wilty, but overall not gross. Plus I didn't throw up so I would say that was a success. So lunch today consisted of a side salad and apple dippers. Not bad, but I am pretty darn hungry right now at 3:00. I think I'll go try and find a healthy lifestle choice snack.

Superbowl and birthday party eating

So I decided to let myself have a day off with the Superbowl and Ty's 2nd birthday. We had so much good food and I just couldn't break tradition and not eat it! The problem with today is the leftovers! I haven't been too bad today, but tomorrow I'm throwing away all the yummy food and going back to my strict diet. I'm already down ten pounds since I started and I'm feeling really happy with how things are going. I posted a new picture of our trip to Mexico this year so I have a new motivation!

Goin' Down

One week has past of my healthy lifestyle choices and so far I have lost 3.5 pounds! I feel like that is a very successful first week. I have also already lost a lot of the cravings. I'm not craving coke at all, and I am already starting to crave sweets less too. Last Monday was my first week of exercising in a long time too and I started with 15 minutes which was hard. Today I did 30 minutes and felt good. It's amazing how quickly your body can adapt!

New Year

I was doing great last year until we moved into a new house. Since then I gained back everything I lost. Not good. I gave myself one week into the New Year, but now I'm back to committed to losing the weight. I started yesterday with exercising and eating well. I'm not going on a "diet" I'm just making healthy lifestyle choices. So I'm back and here we go!

5K!

This morning was the Ogden 5K. I ran with my mom and we ran just under 11 minute miles. I don't have my "official" time yet, but we felt like we did really great. It was such a great experience to be able to run with my mom. The scenery was beautiful and the company was great. Thanks Mom! It was fun!

I Went Back!

Yes, I went back to the gym today. Running was a little more difficult than it was when I was going steadily, but I did ok. I'm running the 5K on Saturday and I'm a little nervous, but hopefully I'll be ok. Ty cried in the nursery for quite awhile and I was off my regular schedule so I only got to go to 1/2 of Zumba. Moral of the story? Don't stop going to the gym because it's only harder when you do go back. Also I gained 4 pounds from my lowest weight which isn't too bad considering I haven't been exercising and have been eating like crazy.
